It's Bow Season, are You Ready

The first of October is a date burned in the mind of hunters all over Illinois, Why, It' The start of Bow Season. I personally am not a bow hunter, but I understand all the planning that goes into a successful hunt. First of all, if you are'nt in a treestand or in ground blind, good luck. Second you must wait for a closer shot than you do if you are hunting with a shotgun. Bow Hunting allows for more of a challenge which most hunters love. There are also many choices that come with bow hunting. First off you need a bow. There are at least four kinds of bows. Longbows, Recurve bows, Compound bows, and Crossbows. After you choose your bow you must pick out you arrows. Arrows are made from wood or carbon fiber. Lastly are arrowheads. There are also many types of arrowheads. Blunt points and JUDO points are for small game like squirrels and rabbits. Field points are for target practice. Fish points are for bowfishing. Broadhead, and expandable blade broadhead points are for big game animals like deer. After you have decided on these things, you are finally ready to get out into the field and hunt.

  1. Wow Ben, I was unaware that there are so many different kinds of bows that you can use. Also I just figured that an arrows an arrow, regardless of what game. That surprises me that there are so many different arrow heads with a different usage for each one. Very nice informative blog!

  2. I feel like i learned so much. I know i've said before i don't know much about hunting, but i had no idea that there were so many different bows arrows. Maybe you could describe the differences between the bows if they're better for some reason.

  3. Good job Ben. There is another very important thing we need to do before we go out... Practice to know that you will make the perfect shot no matter the angle or distance. Are you going to hunt deer with a bow next year? Good job just remember to proof read.

  4. Was it hard learning how to shoot? I remember doing archery in PE in high school, and it was a bit rough :)

  5. Wow, what a blog. The use of hyperlinks is a good choice in this post. Hey look up Ted Nugent. He is a bow hunter and a rock god. The contraction aren't is wrong. It is just your apostrophe placement. I know maybe it would have been a hyperlink flood, but I kind of hoped you would have hyperlinked the arrowhead types aswell.

Now that is out of the way. Did you see the catch by Donal Driver today. The one hander with pass interference. I will ask you about it the next time I see you.
